Besides her vow that she wants to help him live a happy life, she deeply regrets what she did. As for Nakajima, it is mixed bag really.

Contrary to both of these things, she became a character with an extremely noble accomplishment to her name which affected the story in a profound way. In the Soul Society arc, Nanao experienced the sheer Reiatsu of Yamamoto.

Wider is the power level gap, stronger will be the reflected attack. The absorption part is to justify the events of 653, where Nanao and Shunsui are both intact after being hit by Lille Barro’s trompete. It also explains why the Ise family is not a fighting clan: it’s to prevent them to become too strong, thus limiting Hakkyōken ability.

Mar 4, 2024 · Just explaining that Nanao didn't have a Zanpakuto would have been enough to explain the existence of the Shinken Hakkyoken. This would also be a kido-centric fight, which we really need more of and Nanao would be the perfect character to use in that situation. Since she doesn't have a sword, she should be capable as a lieutenant in another way.
Most likely what Izuru used on Yumichika to knock him out in Karakura town arc. So Nanao wanted to toss that to Yama to try knocking him out. I think its called Shinten. Its some kind of liquid in a bottle. She must have kept the bottle in her shinigami robe
