Shawn Lane (March 21, 1963 – September 26, 2003) was an American musician who released two studio albums and collaborated with a variety of musicians including Ringo Starr, Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Reggie Young, Joe Walsh, Jonas Hellborg, Anders Johansson, Jens Johansson and many others.

Even as life served him a series of setbacks, he seemed to be coming into his own as an expressive musician when he died of pulmonary complications on September 26, 2003, at the age of 40.

Shawn Lane (March 21, 1963 – September 26, 2003) Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Lane began playing piano with his sisters at the age of eight, but did not play guitar seriously until he was ten. At age 12–13 he began to practice heavily.
Shawn Lane is three-time GRAMMY Nominee and 28-time IBMA Award winner with Blue Highway. He has toured or recorded with Ricky Skaggs, Lee Ann Womack, Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Doyle Lawson, Larry Sparks, Kenny Chesney, Jerry Douglas, and Willie Nelson, among others.
