Standard Bank lacks a lot of features, like simply getting your bank cards delivered to your door, you have to go to the branch or collect from somewhere. With Standard Bank to do even minor things like setting up Internet banking you have to go to the branch and it's so impractical. Their app is also CRAP according to my wife.

HSBC has a very weird standard for credit card applications. if you don't have an easily trackable credit, it is difficult to get a credit card from them. salary or assets is irrelevant for them...you need to have a good credit record from other banks before you can apply HSBC credit cards.
