A 9 V battery across the chest with saline solution (or sweat) just might - probably not. A 12 V "car battery" or any high current source from a few volts up MAY kill in the very worst case. Hand to hand, I have never heard of shock occurring or being felt. 110 VDC (not AC) routinely killed Edison's linesmen.

Nov 11, 2010 · carefully pry remote apart. Clean circuit board with isopropyl alcohol. Clean key pad with dish soap or other household cleaners. Remove backing and cut tape to size of buttons as needed. A paper hole punch and scissors are helpful. Apply to buttons and mold tape to button area. Reassemble remote. Share.
I am about to tout a device which true Electrical Engineers will be tempted to look at with suspicion, primarily because it's so inexpensive. Or because it's Open-Source Hardware (OSHW). But it's actually not cheap. It may be composed of cheap components, and cheap materials. But it's full of blood, sweat, and tears.

I think the temperature part should be covered with commercial component selection (0°-70° operating temp.), but what about the humidity requirement?
Mar 2, 2021 · Hand sweat consists mostly of water and trace amounts of urea, minerals and lactic acid. I would say that lactic acid is a moderate acid with a pka of approx. 3.5, but we are talking trace amounts in sweat. So cadmium doesn't really react with 'hand chemicals'.
