The adjectives "agathokakological" and "bittersweet" have similar denotations. The colloquial expression "One man's trash is another man's treasure" (indicating that something worthless in one context is valuable in another) could be reversed, forming the anti-proverb "One man's treasure is another man's trash".
Sep 29, 2018 · Worthless, senseless, ceaseless, careless, hopeless, thoughtless, pointless and so on, all bear the meaning 'being without the quality', idiomatically. I cannot think of one example which conveys the meaning 'being limited in said quality'.
Jan 15, 2016 · While I agree that the two quoted sentences have the implications you say now, I strongly suspect that that's because of the influence of the current meanings of "priceless" and "worthless". That they have those implications now doesn't explain how they came to have them.
May 7, 2015 · Thanks for all of the comments. It should be noted that other dictionaries define gewgaw as: "A showy trifle; a toy; a splendid plaything; a pretty but worthless bauble." Understandable that we could argue the semantics of pretty vs. beautiful, but gewgaw can refer to something that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, yet worthless. –

Specifically, valueless would translate to "no tiene valor" while worthless would best translate to "no vale para nada." But "valueless" isn't used very often. "Ordinary" or simply "not valuable" are more commonly used than "valueless."
