It also is affected by you using other things, like mail, web etc during those times Dropbox may slow the process to allow you to continue working. It could be affected by things like you allowing the computer to sleep.

Sep 9, 2020 · At the moment, that’s not possible; you can only create one shared link for the same folder to which you can set an expiration date. However, it’s possible to create different shared links for different folders/files within this folder and set a different expiration date for each one of them. Nancy. Community Moderator @ Dropbox.

I have to download a somewhat important 20 GB .zip file from dropbox, but everytime I try it fails at 50-60% and it's impossible to restart it. I'm downloading through direct link, because I dont have a dropbox plan and can't save it to dropbox.
Nov 15, 2022 · In order to download a folder as a Zip, it needs to contain less than 20GB of data and fewer than 10,000 files. If the folder is larger than either of those, you'll need to download the files within the folder individually, or use the Dropbox application on your computer and let the folder sync to your drive.

Jul 15, 2016 · I'm using the dropbox API from a server side. If I use the /files/download method, I will need two steps to download a file (1. from Dropbox to my WebServer; 2. From my webserver to the endUser machine). I want to avoid this 2 steps, and having a direct link is a good option for it.
