Today, Lido is by far the most popular cinema on the island, accounting for the biggest share of the box office pie. The largest hall, Lido One, has a capacity of over 900. It was the first hall in Singapore to bear certification as a THX hall as well as SDDS, DTS, SRD and Dolby SR.
Situated in Shaw House, in the heart of the Orchard Road shopping promenade area, this cinema complex is readily accessible to great dining and fabulous shopping spots, and is easily one of the best places for movie goers and enthusiasts in Singapore.
Singapore has plenty of movie theatres and also a few IMAX theatres. Shaw theatres Lido IMAX is the one closest to downtown, at Orchard Rd (opposite Orchard Metro station). According to technical staff they have dual digital projectors (not the still very rare dual laser digital projector). The experience was terrific.
