River Valley High School (RV) was the first Chinese secondary school set up by the government. Initially known as the Singapore Government Chinese Middle School when it occupied the premises of Seng Poh Primary School, it was renamed Queenstown Government Chinese Middle School when it moved to Strathmore Avenue.

River Valley High School’s (RVHS) 6-year Integrated Programme is designed to develop leaders of distinction for Singapore. We aim to nurture thinkers, leaders and achievers with good character, bicultural acumen and global perspective.
School Bookshop. Operating Hours from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4pm. Lunch break 11.15 to 12 noon. School Uniform. During term time, students can purchase school uniform and PE attire from the school bookshop from on Mondays to Fridays (except school holidays) from 1.30pm – 3.30pm.
They have continued to achieve strong results at the 2023 GCE A-Level examinations. About 1 in 3 students has 5 distinctions or above and about 1 in 2 students achieved 83 and above University Admissions Score (UAS) points. We thank our teachers and parents for giving our students their fullest support.
