Apr 28, 2021 · When I spoke with RBC and TD Canada Trust regarding transferring my RRSP from Manulife (over $100k), both institutions agreed (but asked me the amount that I would transfer as well as the transfer fee prior to agreeing).
Apr 16, 2021 · TD is effectively kicking everyone off the grandfathered TD Preferred Chequing Account. Increasing the min balance to $5000 (from $2000) and the fee to $1.95 per transaction if you go under your min balance. Effective June 1. What a joke. May 1, 2020 · GTA West. My theory is that the "designation number" is a left-over element from a previous generation of cheque processing. On our TD account cheques they just repeat the first 4 digits of the transit number. Other banks don't seem to have such a number, so I don't think it is used outside of TD or for interbank settlements or transactions.

Dec 3, 2021 · It's unclear from your post if your USD account is Canadian-based with TD Canada Trust or US-based with TD Bank NA. It makes a difference, the Wise USD account is basically a US-based account and works best with other US-based accounts. Directly from a Canadian USD account to Wise USD is only possible by expensive wire transfer (fees on both ends).
