Big Brother 23 (US) is the 23rd season of the broadcasted edition of Big Brother (U.S.) and the 26th season overall.

During the Final Five eviction episode of Big Brother 22 (US), an advertisement for casting new players for the next season was aired, leading many to assume Big Brother was getting a 23rd season. Although the CBS casting page immediately stated that it was accepting applications for season 23, an official renewal announcement from CBS wasn't made ...

•Teams: During the live move-in, houseguests will enter in groups of four and compete for power. The winners of each group will become Team Captains and will be shown a 90-second intro package of the remaining houseguests and choose their three teammates, creating four teams of four, each with two men and two women. Every week, whoever wins HOH will also earn safety for their entire team. The teams will last for the first four weeks of the game.

•Double or Nothing Twist: During the premiere, once the teams are made, the captains will then compete for HOH. Whoever wins will be tempted with a “double or nothing offer from Julie that they won’t be able to refuse.” Frenchie French won HOH for his team, the Jokers, and was given the offer to risk their current safety for a third competition of the evening. If he accepted the offer and won, his team would be safe for the first two weeks, meaning that he would remain HOH for Week 1, while all four of them remained safe for Week 2 no matter who became HOH. If he accepted the offer and lost, he would be dethroned as HOH and his entire team would be vulnerable, while the HOH goes to the second place team, the Queens, led by Claire Rehfuss. If he rejected the offer entirely, he would remain HOH for Week 1 but his team's safety would only last for that week. He ultimately chose to reject the offer and keep the current HOH and safety for his team, leaving them potentially vulnerable in Week 2.

•Wildcard Competition: The three teams that aren't immune for the week will each select one competitor. Those three houseguests will then compete for sole immunity, meaning that if they win, they will be given the option to take safety, while the rest of their team remains vulnerable for nomination and eviction. If the winner decides to accept safety for the week, it will result in a punishment that may affect them, their team, or the entire house.

•Biggest Cash Prize Ever: For the first time since Big Brother 6 (US), the cash prize will be increased from its usual amount of $500,000, with an extra quarter of a million dollars added to the total, meaning the winner of the season will win $750,000. It was also revealed near the end of the season that the runner-up and America's Favorite Houseguest prize money both increased as well, to $75,000 and $50,000 respectively.

•High Roller's Room: During Weeks 6, 7 and 8, the High Roller's Room opened up to the Final 11 houseguests. America voted via text and the three houseguests who received the most votes would receive $100 in "BB Bucks". The next three would receive $75, and the remaining houseguests would receive $50. When the room was open, houseguests could go in and pay to play a competition of luck or skill. If they won the game, they would win a power. The stronger the power, the more expensive the game. A houseguest do not have to use their BB Bucks immediately and can hold them for as long as possible. The twists can only be used in the week they are purchased, and the competitions can only be played once.

•Veto Derby: For 50 BB Bucks, houseguests can play in the "Veto Derby" competition. If they received a score higher than 0 and landed in the top six, they would be able to bet on one of the six Veto players. If the person they bet on ended up winning the PoV Competition, they would earn a second Veto for themselves. Whoever won their Veto through the bet would make their decision first, and the HoH would name a replacement if it was used. From there, whoever won their Veto through the competition then made their decision and could potentially force the HoH to nominate a fourth person by Vetoing either that replacement or the remaining initial nominee. In Week 6, Kyland Young ended up winning the Veto Derby competition and bet on Alyssa Lopez to win the PoV competition - she did, earning both herself and Kyland each their own PoV.
