Göppingen(Swabian: Geppengeor Gebbenga) is a town in southern Germany, part of the StuttgartRegion of Baden-Württemberg. It is the capital of the district Göppingen. Göppingen is home to the toy company Märklin, and it is the birthplace of football player Jürgen Klinsmann. It also hosts the headquarters of TeamViewer AG.
Nach der ersten Kreisreform im Jahre 1938 wurde Göppingen Verwaltungssitz des Landkreises Göppingen, der überwiegend aus den Ämtern Geislingen und Göppingen hervorging. Kurz vor Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges wurden bei einem Luftangriff am 1. März 1945 nahezu 300 Einwohner getötet und 212 Gebäude zerstört.

Göppingen, city, Baden-Württemberg Land (state), southwestern Germany. It lies at the foot of the Swabian Alp, on the Fils River, southeast of Stuttgart. Founded about 1150 by the Hohenstaufen imperial family (whose fortress was nearby), Göppingen passed to the counts of Württemberg in 1273.
