Mar 1, 2018 · Then we had a spelling simplification and they replaced all those with two letters â and î with â mostly used inside the words, then communists simplified this even more and replaced all those with one letter "î" including for Romania (you can see old communist documents with "Romînia" spelling), then they made an exception for România.
