Up until about 1971, there was an interesting train which ran on Sundays only from Sowerby Bridge [dep.3pm] to York via Brighouse, Mirfield, Wakefield Kirkgate, Normanton, Gascoigne Wood Junctions and Selby to York. IIRC, it departed Selby about 4.20pm and arrived at York about 4.45pm.
