Kensington is an area of London in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, around 2.9 miles (4.6 km) west of Central London. [a] The district's commercial heart is Kensington High Street, running on an east–west axis. The north-east is taken up by Kensington Gardens, containing the Albert Memorial, the Serpentine Gallery and Speke 's monument.

Kensington is generally an elegant Borough with superb streets of exceedingly high priced houses. The affluence is reflected in the numerous upper end restaurants and bars found around the place. Many European embassies have their roots here and there is a wealth of peaceful space, notably garden squares and the wonderful Kensington Gardens.

- The Science Museum. The Science Museum is one of many London museums that is free to visit. It is located along Exhibition Road, which is one of the main roads in Kensington.
