Monzón (Spanish: ⓘ) is a small city and municipality in the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. Its population was 17,176 as of 2014. [2] It is in the northeast (specifically the Cinca Medio district of the province of Huesca) and adjoins the rivers Cinca and Sosa.
This Moorish castle was given to the Knights Templar after being conquered by the monarchs of Aragon at the end of the 11th century, and it became one of their most powerful lands. The old Moorish fortress was handed over to the Knights Templar in 1143.
