Puerto Real ( Spanish pronunciation: [ˈpweɾto reˈal]) is a municipality of Spain, belonging to the province of Cádiz, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. As of 2010, it had a population of 40,667. The town is located on the northern shore of the inner lobe of the Bay of Cádiz. It was founded in 1483 by the Catholic Monarchs.
Situated in Cádiz Bay, on flat, sandy land, the town consists of three AREA stands Puerto Real Marsh Complex, comprising El Comisario, San Antonio, El Taraje, Las Canteras and El Tejon lagoons, which has been declared a nature reserve. The coastal highlight is La Isla de Trocadero, a Beauty Spot which is part of Cadiz Bay Natural Park.
