iO, or iO Chicago, (formerly known as "ImprovOlympic") is an improv theater and training center in central Chicago, with a former branch in Los Angeles, called iO West and in Raleigh, North Carolina called iO South.
iO Theater, or iO Chicago, or simply iO, formerly known as the ImprovOlympic Theater, isn't as celebrated as Chicago's Second City. But it has earned a reputation as the premier venue for long-form improvisational performances and classes.
