  2. Course structure. You'll focus on patient contact, professional skills, and scientific and clinical learning, gaining real-life NHS experience at our clinical academies. Periods of elective study and student-selected components allow you to explore areas of personal interest.

    Students must be 18 years of age (or above) at the beginning of their year of entry to undertake the clinical experiential learning in our teaching general practices and clinical academies. This is to ensure that our students have the legal capacity to be bound by the rules of confidentiality of our NHS partners.

    Applicants must be available for interview from December to April immediately following submission of their application.

  4. Courses, programmes and training. The University of Bristol is a research intensive university. Many of our teaching staff are pioneers in their specialist research fields. We offer two routes for medical training, the MB ChB Gateway to Medicine and the MB ChB Medicine.

  5. Learn the mechanisms of human health and disease from renowned research scientists in outstanding facilities, translating laboratory discoveries into clinical application. This degree allows you to gain a firm foundation in a broad variety of subject areas, from biochemistry to virology, and to work with experts to understand the cellular and molecular basis of disease.

  6. Bristol University runs a five-year medical course consisting of a mix of lectures, case-based learning and practical work. You will learn anatomy at state-of-the-art facilities, have the opportunity to explore further interests in an optional intercalation year and have early patient contact, from the first year!
