Biography. Michael Stanley-Baker is an historian of Chinese Medicine and Religion, with a focus first in the early Imperial period, and in the Sinophone diaspora today. His research concerns the divers intersections of different forms of cultural knowledge with Chinese medicine, whether with religion, botany, trade or modern biology and policy.
