Merit Scholarships. LaGuardia offers $500 in merit-based aid to qualifying students. Merit scholarships can be used to pay tuition, fees, books, technology, or personal expenses. To qualify, new students must have a high school grade average of 80 or higher. Returning students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
