Jun 24, 2021 · An original food pioneer, Linda McCartney believed in great tasting, honest, meat-free food and the shared pleasure that eating well could bring. As well as an activist, she was an iconic photographer: the first female photographer to have work featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, and exhibited in the Victoria & Albert Museum and the National Portrait Gallery in the UK and the US.
The launch of the Linda McCartney food brand in 1991 kick-started a revolution of choice in the food industry, overnight there were many more vegetarian products widely available. The McCartney’s had always wanted to provide an easy alternative and the introduction of their brand went a long way to popularising vegetarianism, not only in the supermarkets but in café’s and restaurants too.
Biography. Linda Louise McCartney (née Eastman) was born in Scarsdale, New York, on 24th September 1941.
