The disproportion is absurd. The Magnificent Ambersons which won the 1919 Pulitzer Prize is by far the better book. Anyone who likes American literature should thoroughly enjoy this novel. The Magnificent Ambersons is in its essence a retelling of the Aesop Fable of the Horse and the Ass which demonstrates that pride goes before a fall.
