All full-fee paying Singapore Permanent Residents and International Students have to pay a refundable deposit of SGD 2,000 upon accepting the Letter of Offer from Sports School and having a valid Student Pass issued by Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.
In 2001, the Committee on Sporting Singapore, under the purview of the then Ministry of Community Development and Sports (present-day Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth), made a recommendation to set up a sports school to enable student-athletes to excel in both sports and academics.
