本名および旧 芸名 は渡辺 えり子（わたなべ えりこ）。 略歴. 山形県 山形市 村木沢 出身で、5歳のときに同市美畑町に転居 [2] 。 幼少期から演劇に興味を持ちはじめ、中学生のころに「将来は東京で演劇をやりたい」と思いはじめた [2] 。 山形県立山形西高等学校 在学中は、 演劇部 に所属していた [3] [注 1] 。 高校卒業後、18歳で上京して 舞台芸術学院 （以下、舞芸と表記）に入学して本格的に演劇を学んだ後、劇団「兼八事務所」に参加 [2] 。 1978年 、23歳のときに舞芸の同期生の もたいまさこ らと「劇団2 」（げきだんにじゅうまる）を結成（1980年に「 劇団3 」（げきだんさんじゅうまる）と改名）。
