    • The Gift. The Gift feels more like an M. Night Shyamalan film than a Raimi film, in terms of its basic premise and the fact that it's a 2000s thriller. Even the post's color scheme and design look akin more to a Shyamalan movie.
    • Spider-man 3. Spider-man 3 has a pretty brutal reputation. An understandable one, but an unfair one. Even with all of its extremely hoaky and convoluted scenes, Spider-man 3 is still a memorable movie.
    • Darkman. Liam Neeson played the gruff star of an action movie years before Taken. Raimi created the character in a short story he had previously written and managed to turn it into a film after his film career took off.
    • Spider-man. Along with X-Men, Sam Raimi's first Spider-man film started the superhero film genre's second life in the 2000s. Spider-man has aged a bit, and it's distracting to see Tobery Maguire (at the time nearing 30) play a high schooler, but the film's high points are high.

    • 'The Quick and the Dead' - 49 on Metacritic. It's important to note that Metacritic, and by extension other review aggregates like Rotten Tomatoes, only really have reviews from when they were initially released, and so The Quick and the Dead's low score is likely surprising to many Raimi fans who regard the film as among his best.
    • 'Army of Darkness' - 59 on Metacritic. The third film in Raimi's second most popular trilogy, the film continues the adventures of Ash Williams as he gets transported to the Middle Ages in an attempt to rid the world of the Necronomicon once and for all.
    • 'Spider-Man 3' - 59 on Metacritic. The amount of pressure that Raimi and Sony had to deliver on Spider-Man 3 must have been enormous. The first two films were critical successes and box office juggernauts, so the amount of anticipation for the third film was sky-high.
    • 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' - 60 on Metacritic. Mystical arts, horror elements, and weird multiverse shenanigans meant that Raimi could play around and do literally whatever he desired, and to Multiverse of Madness' credit it might be one of the most "Raimi" films ever made.
  3. Sam Raimi Best Films - Top 10. Hard to believe Sam Raimi was only 20 years old when he and his group of pals (and brothers) from Michigan shocked the world with their low-budg horror flick The Evil Dead in 1981.
