Jan 23, 2023 · Talas had been flying high – in the few years of their existence they had opened for Van Halen and Yngwie Malmsteen. But just as they were getting ready to record their third album, the band broke up. Almost 40 years later, bassist Billy Sheehan decided it was time to revisit those lost songs.

Talas. Sheehan (right) in concert with Steve Vai, 2005. Sheehan's first full-time band was Talas, a power trio with Dave Constantino on guitar and Paul Varga on drums. The band played a mixture of cover songs and original material, and all three instrumentalists alternated on lead vocals.
Oct 4, 2022 · For bassist Billy Sheehan, it was a pivotal year, one in which he bade farewell to his bandmates in Talas and took up his position as a sideman to David Lee Roth, one of the greatest performers of his generation. Talas were an integral part of the early-Eighties hard rock scene.
