    Roger Soffer, along with Christian Ford, wrote the original story pitch of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine third season episode "Life Support", which was based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

    Following their story pitch for Deep Space Nine, Soffer and Ford wrote the screenplay for the fantasy comedy Kazaam (1996, with actors Randall Bosley, Robert Clendenin, Michael Wajacs, and Larry Clardy) and the story for the thriller Slow Burn (2000) which was also Ford's directorial debut and on which Soffer worked as producer. The two also wrote the story for the 2005 television science fiction film Category 7: The End of the World, the television mini series Merlin's Apprentice (2006), and the television science fiction/horror film Final Days of Planet Earth (2006). On Merlin's Apprentice, Soffer also worked as associate producer, and on Final Days of Planet Earth, he worked as producer.
