The company at the top of the structure is called a parent or holding company and can have several subsidiaries beneath it. All companies in the group are under the ultimate ownership and control of the parent company.

A corporate group, company group or business group, also formally known as a group of companies, is a collection of parent and subsidiary corporations that function as a single economic entity through a common source of control. These types of groups are often managed by an account manager.
A group company is a structure where a parent company holds a controlling interest in one or more subsidiary companies. The parent company can be either a holding company that owns the subsidiaries outright or a management company that oversees the subsidiaries’ operations.
- DBS Group Holdings (DBSM) DBSM is one of the largest banks in Asia, headquartered in Singapore with over 280 branches spread across 18 markets. The bank had originally been set up as The Development Bank of Singapore Limited by the Singapore government to handle the industrial financing activities for the Economic Development Board before becoming a commercial bank.
