Harper Steele (born Andrew Steele in August 1961) is an American comedian and writer, who wrote for Saturday Night Live from 1995 to 2008.
Steele was promoted to writing supervisor in the second-half of the show's 26th season in 2001; and was then promoted to being one of the show's head writers during her final four seasons at the show from 2004 until 2008.
Over the years, Steele has worked with many known SNL alumni, including Will Ferrell (who joined SNL the same year), Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, and many more. Since leaving SNL in 2008, Steele was named the Creative Director of Funny or Die in 2008.
In March 2023, Steele was spotted alongside Ferrell in places such as Iowa City and Texas, as they were in the middle of making a road trip documentary.
