Laurence Mark is an American film producer. He produced Dreamgirls, starring Jamie Foxx, Beyonce Knowles, Eddie Murphy, and Jennifer Hudson and written and directed by Bill Condon, which received three Golden Globe Awards, including one for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy), as well as eight Academy Award nominations, winning two of them.
During rehearsals for the 81st Academy Awards in 2009, producers Laurence Mark and Bill Condon compared host Jackman to Barnum. After Jackman expressed interest in a Barnum project, Mark and Condon approached Jenny Bicks, a writer for the ceremony. She and Condon wrote The Greatest Showman.
