Ryszard Bugajski (27 April 1943 – 7 June 2019) was a Polish film director and screenwriter. He directed 23 films and television shows since 1972.

Ryszard Bugajski. Director: Interrogation. Ryszard Bugajski began his career working with Andrzej Wajda at Studio X in the late 70's. When he was pressured by the secret police to become an informant at the Studio, Bugajski vowed to try and bring down the Communist regime.

We met with Polish director Ryszard Bugajski to speak about his career, which spans over forty years. Among his most prominent films is “Interrogation”, which tackles the Stalinist period and was entered into the 1990 Festival de Cannes after being banned for nearly a decade.
