Sylvia Fine Kaye (August 29, 1913 – October 28, 1991) was an American lyricist, composer, and producer. Many of her compositions and productions were performed by her husband, comedian Danny Kaye .
Sylvia Fine was the consummate show-business professional. She managed, organized, and produced much of Danny Kaye’s engagements while having a vibrant career of her own. In the later part of her life, she dedicated much of her time to researching the history of musical theater in America.
Fine, a composer and writer, went from writing revues at small theatres to composing music for Danny’s studio films and teaching at Yale University. In 1990, Sylvia Fine made an initial donation to the Library of Congress to form the Danny Kaye and Sylvia Fine Collection.

Humorous composer Sylvia Fine created unique and influential music in her partnership with Danny Kaye. Fine wrote over 100 songs for Kaye to perform, including the music for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Inspector General, and On the Riviera.
Known professionally as Sylvia Fine (or Sylvia Fine Kaye), she played an important part in Danny's career. After they were married, Danny started performing at the nightclub, La Martinique.
