"Stars in the Sky" is the main theme song of the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film, as well as being the music that plays during the end credits. It was published by Republic Records and features the rapper Kid Cudi. It premiered at midnight on 25 March 2022, with the pre-save happening the day before, on 24 March 2022.
•"The feelings runnin' deep (Deep), ain't no time for sleep" - With Tails injured and Robotnik closing in on the Master Emerald, the stakes become personal to Sonic.
•"A second to unwind, head up in the sky" - Sonic and Tails finding a rest stop at the Russian bar after they win the dance-off and flying in the sky afterwards.
•"I follow to the beat (Beat), it's just what my heart's demandin' (Yeah)" - Sonic enjoying life to his heart's content.
•"Friends and laughin' (Come on)" - Sonic finding friendships (and a family) in the Wachowskis, Tails, and Knuckles.
•"Yes, I feel this my time, watch me glow" - Sonic feels that it is time to use his powers and prove that he is a hero by turning to Super Sonic in the film's climax.
•"In the city, I'm out, I'm rolling 'til the stars in the sky, babe, I'm home" - Sonic's night out in Seattle as a vigilante at the start of the movie.
•The sprite animations used in the music video for "Stars in the Sky" was animated by pixel artists Crappy Blue, Presley Carvalho, and Mike Tona.
