Or perhaps, an inventor of a new genre or technique. To us, Bruce Rubenstein fits every description, yet manages to never fit into a single mold of what an artist should be.
Bruce Rubenstein's large-scale paintings have a rigid and strong composition, but maintain organic shapes and soft colors. His paintings pull from abstract expressionism and cubism, harnessing a striking contemporary edge inspired by his experiences in New York and Los Angeles.

Still making art, and still making challenges for viewers (and reviewers) who like to pigeon-hole and oversimplify artists and their work, putting them into categories that are easy to deal with. Well, Rubenstein won’t stand for this.
Bruce Rubenstein was born and raised in New York. He moved to Los Angeles in 1985 where he currently resides with his wife and two daughters. Like most New Yorkers, Rubenstein is a brazen storyteller. Through his art he is able to communicate his inner most feelings.
