Sergey Ovcharov Born on the 29th of April 1955 in Rostov-on-Don. Graduated from Moscow Culture Institute (Grigory Roshal’s studio) in 1976 and Higher Director and Screenwriter courses at USSR Goskino in 1979, through Gleb Panfilov's studio.
Based on Anton Chekhov's classic play, The Orchard is an eccentric comedy about class struggles in Russia at the turn of the 20th century. An aging aristocratic lady returns home to face the loss of her magnificent cherry orchard estate.
