Rong Yiren (Chinese: 荣毅仁; Wade–Giles: Jung I-jen; May 1, 1916 – October 26, 2005) was the Vice President of China from 1993 to 1998 and was heavily involved with the opening of the Chinese economy to western investment.
Rong Yiren (born May 1, 1916, Wuxi, Jiangsu province, China—died October 26, 2005, Beijing) was a Chinese businessman and politician. He was the founder (in 1979) and president of China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC), China’s largest investment company at the time, and later (1993–98) was vice president of China.
