Kihachi Okamoto (岡本 喜八, Okamoto Kihachi, February 17, 1924 – February 19, 2005) was a Japanese film director who worked in several different genres.
Kihachi Okamoto. Director: The Human Bullet. Okamoto belonged to what one colleague called "the generation where most of them got killed": the leagues of university graduates who were drafted into and sacrificed to the last years of Japan's war in the South Pacific.

岡本 喜八 （おかもと きはち、 1924年 （ 大正 13年） 2月17日 [1] - 2005年 （ 平成 17年） 2月19日 ）は、 日本 の 映画監督 。 本名：岡本 喜八郎（おかもと きはちろう） [1] 。 経歴. 岡本喜八とみね子（『キネマ旬報』1960年5月上旬号より） 鳥取県 米子市 四日市町 出身 [1] [2] 。 1941年、米子商蚕学校（現・ 米子南高校 ）卒業 [1] 後、上京。 1943年 に 明治大学 専門部商科卒業後、 東宝 に入社し助監督となる [1] 。 しかし、1944年に太平洋戦争の戦局の悪化に伴い召集され、1945年1月に松戸の 陸軍工兵学校 に入隊 [1] 。 愛知県豊橋市にあった第一 陸軍予備士官学校 で終戦を迎えた [1] 。
