William Davies (born 1976) is an English writer, political and sociological theorist. His work focuses on the issues of consumerism, happiness, and the history and function of expertise on society.
I am a sociologist and political economist, working on diverse topics, including neoliberalism, happiness science, environmental politics and anti-expert politics. What links this work is an interest in the interface of knowledge and power, drawing on the work of Michel Foucault, Luc Boltanski and Max Weber.

William Davies is a London-based academic who studies the history of ideas and their impact on politics and society. He writes for various publications and is the Director of the Political Economy Research Centre at Goldsmiths, University of London.
