Mitovski is the co-founder of the artistic groups “Edge” and “Disco 95”. He has also been awarded multiple national and international awards as well as nominated in the 2005 and 2007 “Semaine De La Critique” for short films at Cannes.

Dimitar Mitovski was born on August 1, 1964 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He started painting at an early age and was accepted to the Professional Scenic Arts High School in Plovdiv, where he graduated in the early 1980s. While in school, Mitovski made his first short animation film on 16mm - "Absurd".
