  2. Nov 18, 2019 · Here’s how you find this spot (with a couple of photos below to reference!) Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge. Take the Alexander Ave exit and take the second left. Go through the tunnel and follow the signs for the headlands (it’s probably where all the cars will be driving)

  3. Jan 4, 2024 · Hawk Hill is a great place to visit any time of day, but particularly sunrise and sunset are epic. The sun rises over the San Francisco skyline, slowly illuminating the Golden Gate Bridge. The sun sets out over the Pacific Ocean, casting a beautiful golden glow over the bridge.

    • Hawk Hill. This is my favorite spot to view sunrise over the Golden Gate Bridge. Located within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Hawk Hill is proudly perched atop a 923 foot peak in the Marin Headlands.
    • Battery Spencer. On the north side of the bridge, you’ll find one of my favorite places to photograph the golden arches. This is a popular sunset spot that can get crowded and can be hard to find parking, so I think morning is a great time to visit here.
    • Conzelman Road Turnouts-Marin Headlands. There are numerous spots to pull over and park while driving down from Hawk Hill to Battery Spencer. Three popular options are on Conzelman Road, and you can plan on being treated to a wonderful view of the bridge at any one of them.
    • Golden Gate Bridge View Vista Point (North Side) There are vista points on both the north and south side of the bridge, but I prefer the north side. There are two parking areas which offer free parking for at least four hours (only on the north side), and I’m really only interested in seeing the bridge itself…I don’t need to visit a gift shop or café (which you’ll find at the South Vista Point).
  4. Mar 1, 2021 · Hawk Hill offers a prime vantage point for viewing thousands of hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures collectively known as “raptors” as they soar overhead during their annual fall migration. It is also lauded as the most spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco skyline.

  5. Watch hawks trace circles in the sky from rolling hills in the Marin Headlands. Besides its wide-screen vistas of the Pacific and the Golden Gate, Hawk Hill offers fascinating wildlife experiences. It is the best place to witness the fall raptor migration and provides habitat for the mission blue butterfly.

  6. Hawk Hill is a 923-foot (281 m) peak in the Marin Headlands, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge and across the Golden Gate strait from San Francisco, California. The hill is within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is the lookout point for the largest known flight of diurnal raptors in the Pacific states.
