Feb 27, 2023 · Disney Legend Burny Mattinson, who worked as an animator, director, producer, and story artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios during an unprecedented 70-year career, passed away Monday, February 27, at Canyon Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canoga Park, California, following a short illness. He was 87 years old.
Burny Mattinson (1935-2023) was a longtime Disney employee who worked on many classic animated films and shorts. He was nominated for an Oscar for "Mickey's Christmas Carol" and contributed to "Aladdin," "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King" and more.
