Academic Programs. Basically, I am a geochemist who wears two very different hats: Tectonics: My graduate research (c. 1990) was exclusively on metamorphic rocks, and I maintain an active research program investigating tectonics via the geochemistry and geochronology of metamorphic minerals.

MKohn Mineralogy Videos. I have created several (19 so far…) videos on optical mineralogy and uploaded them to YouTube. These are pretty bare bones – just the image that you see down a microscope in plane and crossed polarized light, rotating the stage to illustrate characteristic optical features.
