Gauri Shinde (born 6 July 1974) is an Indian film director and screenwriter. Shinde made her directorial debut with the highly acclaimed English Vinglish (2012), which marked the comeback of actress Sridevi.
Gauri Shinde was born and brought up in the City of Pune, Maharashtra. Her aspirations towards films started at the fag end of her college days. Gauri Shinde went on to do a course in filmmaking in New York and made a short film there. The film also went to the Berlin International Film Festival.
