Doug Taylor (1938–2020) was a Canadian historian, professor, author and connoisseur of movie theatres. [1] [2] In two books, and multiple online articles, Taylor wrote about Toronto's history of beautiful cinemas. [3]

Aug 24, 2020 · Doug Taylor, one of Toronto’s local historians, died recently at the age of 82. I got to know Doug because we were both among the inaugural inhabitants of a new mid-rise residential building in the formerly industrial King-Spadina area in the early 2000s.
