Maceo Bruce Sheffield (September 8, 1897 – August 20, 1959) was a police detective and an actor in American films. He worked in Los Angeles as a policeman before acting and assisting in the production of films with African American casts. He was also a stuntman and pilot.

Maceo Bruce Scheffield (1897-1959), (often spelled Sheffield) was an actor who appeared in "race films," made in California. He was also involved in producing and writing films. Before his acting career, he was a high ranking and much-feared policeman in the 1920s and 1930s, known for his intimidating manner while policing other black Angelenos.
