The real reason Bleek went broke seems to be that the guy is just bad with money. Complex reported that the one-(maybe two, but that's pushing it)-hit-wonder was said to have a combined monthly income of $5,911.94 from royalties and his business at the time he filed for Chapter 11.
Malik Deshawn Cox (born June 23, 1978), known by his stage name Memphis Bleek, is an American rapper. He is best known for his affiliation with fellow New York City-based rapper Jay-Z , with Cox often described as his hype man and protégé.
Based on what I've gotten just from side mentions from Guru and Just Blaze interviews is that Memphis Bleek was there at the time Jay was transitioning from the streets to music. So I think his vision was two fold.
So the only reason to write about Memphis Bleek today is to zig where others have zagged, and make the case that Bleek was actually criminally underrated. But the thing is, that piece has already been written as well.
