"FYB" is a song by Poppy. It served as the lead single from her fifth extended play Stagger and is the first track on the EP. It was released on September 23rd, 2022.
The song was first performed on the Never Find My Place Tour on August 27th, 2022, which coincided with the announcement of Poppy's Stagger EP.
On August 29th, 2022, Poppy posted a snippet of the song's visualizer on social media with the caption "FYB soon", as well as a pre-save link, hinting that the song would be released as the first single from the EP. On September 13th, 2022, Poppy posted another teaser to social media and revealed the single's release date of September 23rd, 2022.
In an interview with Dork, Poppy revealed that the song is about karma and watching somebody who hurt you "getting what they deserve, without you yourself having to lift a finger". She described the song as a "revenge anthem", but "you don't do anything about it. You just let it happen."
The person getting what they deserve in the song is described as having intimate relationships with multiple girls, and may refer to how Poppy's former partner Ghostemane began to date Skye Fires not long after calling off their engagement.

•The title "FYB" is an acronym for "Fuck You Back".
•This is the tenth Poppy song to have been performed live before its official release. It was first performed at the Reading Festival.
•This is one of only six Poppy songs to be marked explicit on most music streaming services such as Apple Music and Spotify, the others being "Lowlife", "American Kids", "Chic Chick", "Shapes" and "Stagger".
•Additionally, this is the most explicit song in Poppy's discography, with Poppy uttering profanities a total of 31 times throughout the song.
•This is the second Poppy song to have an official clean version released, with the first being "Lowlife". However, unlike the clean version of "Lowlife", the profanities are censored instead of replaced with clean lyrics.
