Blerim Destani was born on April 12 1981 in Stolberg near Aachen. The son of an Albanian family spent most of his youth in Tetovo, Macedonia, and already at the age of fourteen, he starred in the Albanian TV production "Atje ku nuk lind dielli" ("Where No Sun Rises", 1995).
