Damian Elwes is a British painter who recreates the studios of other artists, such as Picasso and Matisse. He started as a graffiti artist in New York and was influenced by Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
SEE PRINTS. MATISSE’S PALETTE KNIFE. As a graduation gift Damian’s college professor gave him Matisse’s palette knife (which Matisse had given to Alice B. Toklas). Since then Damian has visited snd painted almost all of Matisse’s studios in Paris and the South of France.
