Mary Tamm (22 March 1950 – 26 July 2012) was a British actress, who appeared in many British TV drama series and serials, and is best known for her role as Romana I in the BBC's science fiction television series Doctor Who, appearing opposite Tom Baker in the 1978–1979 story arc The Key to Time.
Mary Tamm (1950-2012) was an actress from Bradford, with Estonian and Russian descent. She is best known for playing Romana I, the first female Time Lord in "Doctor Who" (1963-1989), and for her roles in "The Odessa File", "Brookside" and "Crosswits".

Mary Tamm (22 March 1950-26 July 2012[1]) was a graduate and an associate member of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She was the first actress to play Romana in Doctor Who, appearing as the companion of Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor in season 16.
